Like many european countries, France is full of contrasts.  Paris really is unlike any other city in the world and is a wonderful place to spend time.  But when you venture outside of Paris, you see a country that is steeped in history and culture.  You have small villages that just barely show up on a driving map and yet will have some little town center monument that makes you do a double take.  You discover cities and regions that have produced some of the most famous writers, composers, poets, and scientists the world has seen.  And then, of course, there is the wine.  Ah yes.  You could spend all your time sampling, and there would certainly be nothing wrong with that.  What ever you decide to do, make sure you do it at a leisurely pace so you can experience all that France has to offer.
